In 1994, Steve and Lisa Zelle launched Precision Builders in LeClaire, Iowa. Quickly, the company began to garner recognition for their superb services, receiving Quad City Home Builder Awards of Excellence and Best of Show—just two years into business. By 1998, Precision Builders transitioned from mid-size to large commercial work, including apartment complexes, assisted living centers, retail, medical, educational, churches and municipal projects.

Today, we offer services in General Contracting, Construction Management and negotiated services. As a full-service general contractor that is fully-insured, we specialize in commercial, retail, industrial and institutional construction. Our projects range from new construction to remodels and reconstruction.

We host regular “Tool Box Safety Talks” to keep our personnel informed, and we also closely monitor jobsite safety every day during the entire project schedule. We hire only the best trained union carpenters and reputable subcontractors. Most often, a full-time superintendent oversees all our projects, assuring that the project is on schedule and reaching our high quality standards.

Precision Builders is signatory with Carpenter’s Local 4 and 166, as well as professional members of Master Builders of Iowa, AGC (Associated General Contractors of America), NAWIC (National Organization of Women in Construction), Better Business Bureau, and various other chambers of commerce.
